There is a list at the end of the page which will help you to move along from blog to blog so you see 20 amazing projects all up. __________________________________ Hallo en welkom op onze World Card Making Day Blog Hop!  Vandaag is het "Wereld Wenskaarten Dag" en dat moet natuurlijk gevierd worden. Daarom hebben we speciaal voor vandaag een supergave bloghop met een heleboel inspiratie! Ik ben Xandra van der Hoeven en ik woon in Heijningen, West-Brabant (Nederland). Behalve bij mij kom je zo ongeveer langs de hele wereld vandaag.  Aan het einde van de pagina vind je een lijst met alle 20 blogs. Zo kun je alle 20 prachtige projecten bewonderen! In august, my granddad turned 90 years old. We celebrated this three weeks ago. Quite an age, and he is still quite the same person as well....30 years ago! He still drives his car (and he just bought a new one!!), he still knows everything about everything, he still makes his 5* puzzles to keep his brain going, he still lives in his house, independent as always. But sadly he really misses his late wife. We all miss her so much, she was the best grandmother and mother to their children. I am so proud to say Omi (my grandmother) has seen my little boy. When he was three months old, she passed away. Even more proudly I can say Opi (my granddad) is so so fond of David, and David is so so fond of Opi-opi! They always have blast together when they see eachother! So.... This remarkable, one-of-a-kind, fantastic man, deserved a beautiful card for his birthday! _____________________________________ In augustus werd mijn opa (a.k.a. Opi) 90 jaar. Dit vierden we 3 weken geleden. Een behoorlijke leeftijd! Maar ik geloof dat hij nog steeds dezelfde persoon is als, tja... 30 jaar geleden! Hij rijdt nog steeds auto (en kocht afgelopen maand gewoon een nieuwe! De andere was op...), hij heeft nog steeds verstand van alles, hij maakt nog steeds 5*cryptogrammen (om zijn hersenen fit te houden), hij woont nog steeds in zijn oude huis, onafhankelijk als altijd. Helaas mist hij Omi wel verschrikkelijk. We missen haar allemaal enorm, ze was de allerbeste omi voor ons, en moeder voor mijn moeder en ooms. Ik ben heel trots op het feit dat ze David nog heeft gekend. Toen hij drie maanden oud was, overleed ze. Nóg trotser ben ik op Opi: Hij is zó dol op David, en David op Opi-Opi. Als ze elkaar zien, is het altijd feest en hebben ze de grootste lol!!
Dus....deze fantastische man verdiende natuurlijk een prachtige kaart voor zijn verjaardag!

But well.... as always... I wanted to put far too much stuff on my card! (for a special person, it is hard to not want to say everything!) But then I came across the "triple-tier-card" which was designed by Dawn Griffith. I changed the measurements a little, so it could fit a Dutch C6-envelope, and I was finally able to decorate away! *whohoo!* _________________________________ Maar ja, zoals dat wel vaker het geval is, wilde ik natuurlijk weer veel te veel kwijt op mijn kaart. Voor een speciaal iemand is het immers moeilijk om het simpel te houden. Maar toen kwam ik de zogenaamde "triple tier slider card" van Dawn Griffith tegen. De afmetingen wat gewijzigd naar Nederlandse maten, en toen kon ik mijn ei kwijt *yeah!!*
The base of the card is made of Crumb Cake Cardstock. And then the only colors I used, were matching colors with the Marroccan DSP. I am really in love with these papers, you can create anything for both men and women with it! The stampsets I used are Guy Greetings, Timeless Textures and Number of Years. Ofcourse I used the matching Large Numbers framelit dies, and the Layered Circles dies. To make the "90th" stand out a little more, I used the large scribble die from the Swirly Scribbles framelits. I really enjoyed making this card for my granddad. And, more important: He liked it very much! ______________________________________
De basis van de kaart maakte ik van Crumb Cake cardstock. Verder gebruikte ik de kleuren en het papier uit de Marroccan Suite. Wat een gaaf designpapier is dat.... Voor zowel mannen als vrouwen kun je er perfect mee uit de voeten! Verder mochten de Guy Greetings, Timeless Textures en Number of Years natuurlijk niet ontbreken. Natuurlijk heb ik de matchende Large Numbers framelits ook gebruikt. Om de "90" wat meer op te laten vallen heb ik nog een swirl uit de Swirly Scribbles toegevoegd. Het was heerlijk om deze kaart voor opi te maken. En het belangrijkste: Hij vond 'm mooi!
